Pucki goes to America

Pucki Goes To America
Chapter 1

In February 2005 I saw on e-bay a teddy bear.
Pucki (handmade) 8 cm. (3.15 in.), Lonely, searches for new home.
My heart melted.  I wanted to find out more!  Ah, Pucki has clothes and shoes and he can stand all by himself!  I put in my bid for €1 and I waited...down to the minutes...then the last seconds...Pucki was mine!  It was wonderful!  I rescued a teddy!  Now I wondered more about him, cute, ugly, old, young?  I didn't know.
The day Pucki arrived, I opened my front door and he fell into my open arms!  I carried him into the house and to my desk.  He was very curious, asking many questions.  I tried to answer all of them while explaining things to him.  Pucki loved my home and he loved me!  Then he discovered my webcam and looked inside.  'Oh!  There is a woman inside!' he cried shyly but excited.  It was Kassy, and he began to talk with her.  After a while, she invited him to Oklahoma.
I could not stop him!  Pucki went to Hamburg harbour and then he was gone.  Kassy and I thought he would travel to America on a ship, so I called Hamburg to find out, and they said, 'Going by ship can take 8 - 10 weeks.  Don't worry.'  It had been three weeks and even though the man had given us some relief, we really missed Pucki.

BB and the G7
Chapter 2

E-bay sent me the Magnificent G7 and BB.  I gave them money to search for Pucki.  They went to Hamburg but then spent all the money on alcohol.  Later, BB found a ship on which they could work for their passage.

BB is waving  BB is waving while Elk the moose, looking very green, is throwing up over the side of the ship.  The rest of G7 were sleeping.

Then a fierce storm hist their ship, not good for the G7's.  Then they met a Sea Monster that ran the ship to the ground!  Unfortunately, Pirates found them and captured BB and G7.  But, the pirates were very stupid and BB and the G7 overtook the Pirates and took their treasure chest along with the key!  They were rescued by a whale that dropped them off on America's shores.

rescue by whale

As soon as they found a city they looked for a bus.  They were trying to give the bus driver what they thought were worthless coins that they got out of the chest.  BB was surprized at the bus driver's enthusiasm at such old coins!  He did not understand why he seemed so happy, the coins seemed too old to be of value!
BB and the G7 finally arrived in Oklahoma, but have not seen Pucki.  When they met up with Kassy, she knew they needed a rest and donated them to children so they could be loved and hugged.

First News From Pucki
Chapter 3

Several days later, we got an e-mail.  It was from Pucki!

Pucki on board

'Hello!  I am sitting on board of the ship to America and I miss you very much!  I have seen the whole ship, but I dream of many things when I see the sunsets.  I will arrive soon.  Hugs and Kisses, Pucki'.
We were so excited!  Pucki is still alive!
Not long after, we received another e-mail. Pucki - statue of liberty

                                           Dear Uncle Ludger,

In my dream last night, I was standing on the ship's deck
with some of the other passengers.  We were watching the
sunset over New York City, and now I can't wait to see it in
real life!  I hope to reach my new home soon!
                                                                                    Many Hugs!
                                                                                    Your Pucki
                                                                                                                                                                        Isn't it beautiful!

Pucki walks like a seaman

Later, the captain escorted Pucki from the ship.

     Dear Uncle Ludger,
The ship arrived last night.  Everything looked
so pretty!  The captain walked with me to the
dock then handed me my suitcase.
He wished me luck in my new home.  Such a
     nice man!
Today I will get on the train to begin my
journey to Oklahoma!  I am having so much
     fun, but I miss you!
     Love and Hugs!
     Your Pucki

Pucki was finally in America!  As he went through New York, he said 'Hello', 'Nice to meet you', or 'How are you', but no one answered.  Pucki felt very small and alone for all he saw was legs.  He found the railroad station and bought a ticket to the Southern part of America.  Once on the train, he discovered a good lady from the ship.  She was very friendly and Pucki felt very safe on his journey to the South.  He ate and drank.  Later, looking out the window at the passing landscape, he fell asleep and dreamed about Aunt Kassy.

Pucki Goes Westwards
Chapter 4

amazed but tired Pucki

Pucki had a dream that he was sitting in Kassy's house.  He enjoyed drinking the milk from real U.S. cows!  Aunt Sally called to Pucki, 'Pucki!  It's time to wake up!  We are now in Columbia.  This part of your journey is done.'  Pucki hugged Aunt Sally and said goodbye one last time.
Pucki got his luggage, left the train and looked around for the wagon train that would take him farther West.

Pucki is excited

Pucki lives in a greyscaled world ;-)

Before the wagon train headed out, the photographer took photographs for the generations to come.
The journey was not easy for the wagons have a hard ride, but there is a German saying, 'Better bad driven than good gone.'  So, the wagon train slowly went forward a few miles every day.
After several weeks we again got an e-card from Pucki. 'Dear Uncle Ludger and Aunt Kassy, Help me please.  I have been kidnapped by Indians.  During the night they came and took me from my wagon.  They have roped me to a tree, and the ropes cut my paws.  Please help!  Hugs and Kisses, Your Pucki   P.S. I love you!'
We received the next card the following day.  'Dear Aunt Kassy, Dear Uncle Ludger, Nat Bumppo and Chingachgook set me free but I don't know where I am.  They left me deep in the forest and I am lost.  I need to find a Ranger.   Kisses, Your Pucki.'

lost in forest

Here I am lost in the forest maze.
     Hugs and Love,
     Your Pucki

Pucki felt like such a small teddy bear in a big forest.  And knew it to be the truth.

Kidnapped Again
Chapter 5

Things were very quiet.  After quite some time we received a strange e-card.  It was made from the letters cut from newspaper!

a secret letter

          we kidnapped Pucki
       Bring 1 Million to Chicago
or it will be a cruel
           end for Pucki.
            Al Capone

There was nothing we could do.  And we did not have 1 million dollars, nor would anyone give us that much money.
Mr. Spock has heard mysterious cries from a teddy bear when they passed over planet Earth.  So, Mr. Scott beamed up Pucki and new adventures began on the Enterprise!  Pucki was trained to be a doctor by Dr. McCoy, he also learned to open cans with a phaser with Mr. Sulu, then giving orders with Captain Kirk.  He really enjoyed learning kissing with Lieutenant Uhura!  And to beam everywhere with Mr. Scott.  He loved being beamed up, down, here, there and everywhere!  He also loved to sleep on Captain Kirk's lap.
Pucki asked what time it was, but Captain Kirk only knew star time. 'I am on my way to visit Aunt Kassy, can you get me there?'
Captain Kirk answered, 'We are in Deep Space, but I will see if we can find the spaceship Orion.  It is a German  spaceship made in the 1960's to fight against the 'frogs', the green Aliens that live without O2.
Commander Cliff Allister McLaine was there to receive the Enterprise.  Mr. Scott beamed Pucki to the Orion. It was not common to beam people or teddy bears on the Orion.  There he began new adventures with McLaine, Mario, and Hasso.  They had a fun time during the flight back to Earth.  Pucki even went out for a space walk!

Teddy space walk

But he was very curious to see some of the famous places in the U.S.
Mario took Pucki to the Grand Canyon.  Here he wrote his next e-card.

grand canyon view

Dear Aunt Kassy, Dear Uncle Ludger,
Look where I am!  Such an impressive landscape!  I am overwhelmed!  I could climb down, but I know that you are waiting, Aunt Kassy.  I will take the next Greyhound bus or train.  And I have heard about Western Union.  Maybe on the way I will see Cowboys, buffalo, cows, winnetou and Old Shatterhand...maybe.  I hope to see you soon. Kisses, Pucki.

Pucki On Tour
Chapter 6

Pucki arrived in Tennessee.  He'd heard about the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, the center of Country and Western Music.  Pucki knew country music stars like Johnny Cash, Dave Dudley, Don Williams, Tammy Wynette, John Denver and the sweet, lovely Dolly Parton.  Pucki was a little disappointed because there was no concert, no country star, not anyone.
So he went to Memphis.  There he went along the streets and looked into the gardens and he saw people having a garden party.
  Pucki heard a famous voice.
'Uncle Elvis?!?  May I come in?  My name is Pucki.  I have come from Germany on my way to see Aunt Kassy in Oklahoma!'

                         birthday surprise

'Yes, come in Pucki.  What a surprize!  How is Kassy?  We are celebrating Easter, would you like to join us?  Please sit down and have some breakfast.  Would you like some honey?'
'Aunt Kassy is waiting for me.  This journey has not at all gone as planned!'
The Presley's were very nice.  Pucki played with their little daughter Lisa-Marie.  Later they sang songs together.  Uncle Elvis invited Pucki to go with him on tour.  Pucki has a very good voice.

                   Pucki on tounee

Their tour was very successful.  They were so good together, even better than Elvis alone!  Pucki had so much fun.  He loved signing autographs or putting his pawprint on t-shirts.  Pucki became a star!
Suddenly Pucki remembered Aunt Kassy!  She is still waiting!
'Uncle Elvis?  I must leave now, Aunt Kassy is waiting.  I'll take the train to Oklahoma.'
Elvis took Pucki to the closest railroad station and they said goodbye.
Pucki was tired because with Elvis the nights were long and the days short. Pucki fell asleep very quickly.
Someone was shooting, others were loud.  'Give me your money!'  A dirty man was robbing all the passengers.  He finally came around to Pucki, 'Give me your money.' Pucki told him, 'No.'  The bandit waved his revolver and shouted, 'Money! Fast!'
'No!  Go away you stinky bastard.  I am a poor, little teddy bear without anything.  DO NOT DISTURB ME!!!' Pucki was in a rage!
Another bandit came in to the train car.  'What happenend?' he asked.
The other replied, 'This tiny rat is stubborn, Jesse.'
Pucki yelled, 'LEAVE THIS CAR!  I AM ON MY WAY TO MEET AUNT KASSY!  EVER SINCE I CAME TO THE UNITED STATES I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT TROUBLE!  LEAVE ME ALONE AND LET ME SLEEP UNTIL WE REACH OKLAHOMA!'
  'Aunt Kassy?  Oklahoma?'
'YEEEEEEEEEEES!!!'  No one had ever heard a teddy bear cry out so loud!
'Excuse me little teddy bear.  I know your Aunt Kassy.  She is my cousin.  You are on the wrong train.  We are now in Missouri.'

          Pucki on uncle Jesse´s lap

'I am so tired Uncle Jesse.'
'Come, go with us.  We have to hide all this money, it's money the railroad company has stolen from it's workers.'
Pucki was amazed.  This man was really the famous bandit Jesse James!

Wanted

Two days later, Pucki bought a newspaper.  Uh-oh!  The authorities were looking for him!  It also made him a little proud.  There was a $5,000.00 reward for bringing him and Uncle Jesse in to the Sheriff.

Oklahoma

The James Gang brought Pucki to the Oklahoma State line.  From the next city Pucki sent his last e-card.

             coming home

One day later, Pucki and Aunt Kassy were united and were so happy!  They cuddled each other for the longest time!  Aunt Kassy made a sweet honey tea and Pucki began to tell his long, incredible story.
